And the snow angles down like the sea,
like the sea,
making angels of the hillbilly statuary—each bale and blade, rodents frozen for spring—
the ego listening, finally, to its sent-down detail:
To be a hollow for love that longs to settle uponand not penetrate.
To be a titanwith great capacities, all I ever wished to be.
Years beached upon the edge of a childhood,
learning so little.
