Abstract

Content Management Systems (CMSs) are a good way to publish and manage oral history collections online. This article reviews the steps for making an informed choice of the best CMS for your project. The article is written for those new to many of the concepts, but it contains useful information for all levels of users. The article begins with the necessary planning steps for making an informed choice; continues by explaining key terms necessary for understanding CMS descriptions; and ends with a review of several popular open-source CMS options.
