Contributors STANLEY WEINTRAUB: Research Professor and Director of the Institute for the Arts and Humanistic Studies at the Pennsylvania State University, Professor Weintraub is also Editor of The Shaw Review. His recent books include Journey to Heartbreak: the Crucible Years of Bernard Shaw and Bernard Shaw's Nondramatic Literary Criticism. PAUL W. DAY is Professor and Head of Department of English in the University of Waikato, Hamilton, New Zealand. He is the author ofJohn Mulgan, Twayne, 1968. SHOSHANA AVIGAL teaches drama in the Department of Theatre Arts at Tel Aviv University. She completed her dissertation on the problem of space in dramatic realism, and has published several articles on modern drama. ARTHUR H. NETHERCOT: Franklyn Bliss Snyder Professor of English, Emeritus, Northwestern University, Dr. Nethercot's numerous publications include books on Cowley, D'avenant, Coleridge, Shaw, and Annie Besant. He is coeditor of the two-volume Baskervill, Heltzel and Nethercot anthology, Elizabethan and Stuart Plays. CLAUDE AVELINE is essentially a novelist, essayist, and poet whose work is preoccupied with social and critical problems. An elegant prose style merges with sensitive perception in a play like his Brouard. He is afso the author of several detective novefs. BERNARD F.
