This essay examines the national memory of the late Tun Abdul Razak Hussein, Malaysia’s second Prime Minister, his public and private life, as represented by his Memorial Museum. This representation is contrasted with that in public reports and other accounts of him. The article concludes that the systematic and selective representation undertaken by the Memorial Museum is no different from that done by museums during the colonial period.
