CONTRIBUTORS TO THIS ISSUE Thomas F. Curran is a doctoral candidate at the University of Notre Dame and managing editor of the Journal ofPolicy History. William B. Feis received a Masters degree from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 1989 and is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in military history at The Ohio State University. James O. Breeden, professor of history at Southern Methodist University, is the author of Joseph Jones, M.D.: Scientist of the Old South. David Paul Smith has published a number of articles on the Civil War. He is the author of Rangers and Rebels: Frontier Defense of Texas in the Civil War, forthcoming in 1991. William F. Hanna is a history teacher at Taunton High School in Massachusetts and a visiting associate professor of history at Bridgewater State College.
