MINUTES OF THE 1975 MEETING OF THE COMEDIANTES The 1975 Meeting was held at the Hyatt Hotel in San Francisco at 10:30 a.m. on December 27th. More than one hundred persons attended. The Chairman , Charlotte Stern, distributed copies of "An Urgent Plea to our Friends and Colleagues whose Field is the Spanish Golden Age," a copy of which was enclosed in the 1975 Fall issue of the Bulletin of the Comediantes. She explained the importance of trying to obtain Division status for Spanish 3. The slate for the proposed Division was voted upon and carried. The officers are as follows: A. Julián Valbuena, Chairman 1976; Edward Nagy, Secretary 1976. The other members of the Executive Committee are Charlotte Stern (1976), William Whitby (197679 ) and Vern Williamsen (1976-80). Professor Williamsen gave a report on the progress of the Tirso Bibliography and also mentioned that the tricentennial year of Calderón's death (1981) is approaching, and programs should be organized for this event. The Comediantes' luncheon was held at 12 Noon, December 28th, at the Magic Pan Restaurant. There was an informal business meeting after the luncheon. Professor Valbuena announced that the Executive Committee had decided to continue holding these luncheons as a part of the Comediantes' activities during the annual MLA convention . Professor Stern gave a short explanation of the structural changes taking place within the MLA and answered questions on this subject. Professor Gregg presented a financial report of the Bulletin of the Comediantes and proposed an increase in subscription rates.
