Notes on Contributors Di Feng ("Life Writing in Mainland China (1949-1993)") is senior editor of Guangming Daily, the leading newspaper for intellectuals in China. Khetsun Zangpo ("Namtar: The Tradition of Biography in Tibet") is currently teaching at Association du Centre d'Etudes de Chanteloube , St. Leon-sur-Vezere, 24290 Montignac, France. He conducted Dudjom Rinpochê's Teachers' College in Nepal, compiled the Biographical Dictionary of Tibet, and writes and teaches for Westerners as well as Tibetans. Elissa Mannheimer, "Introduction" and translator of the article, also at A.C.E.C, received her degree in anthropology from NYU. She has spent many years studying, translating, editing and teaching Tibetan and Buddhism throughout Asia, Europe and the U.S. James J. Lu ("The Last Emperor and the Secondary Consort") currently teaches at the Hamilton Colige, Clinton, New York 13323. He has published articles on Richard Wright and Jack London. Sulak Sivaraksa ("Biography and Buddhism in Thailand") is the founder of the International Network of Engaged Buddhists, 127 Soi Santipap, Nares Road, Bangkok 10500 in Thailand. He has also founded a number of other organizations, has been a visiting Professor at UC Berkeley, University of Hawaii, Cornell and Swarthmore, has published many writings, and was a nominee for the Nobel Peace Prize in 1993. ...
