The purpose of this investigation was to gather reliability and beginning normative data for a version of the Tennessee Self-Concept Scale (TSCS) revised to a lower reading/language level. The sample group for this study included 77 hearing students, who were tested to compare the original and revised forms, and 75 deaf and 27 hard of hearing students, who supplied test-retest data on the revised form. Students ranged in age from 12 to 21 years. Good reliability on the revised TSCS was established as compared to the original, and reliability of the revised TSCS was demonstrated as a consistent measure over time. Results suggest that further research with deaf and hard of hearing persons on the revised Tennessee Self Concept Scale is worthwhile.
