Abstract

The Instructional Media Production Project for Severely Handicapped Students, based at George Peabody College for Teachers of Vanderbilt University, Nashville, Tennessee, has developed a product selection and production process involving: (a) the construction of a product profile outline for each potential product; (b) review and recommendations on each potential product by an interdisciplinary Decision-Making Council; (c) approval of specific products by USED/OSE; and (d) product development by interdisciplinary production teams following a detailed product development lattice. Professional areas represented in both the Decision-Making Council and the product development teams include special education, educational technology, educational media production, technical media production, and educational products marketing.
