Snow is originally from a large-scale mural in Providence, RI, created in collaboration with scholar Gavriel Cutipa-Zorn, exploring the transnational solidarities between Palestine and Central America. This side of the mural features the portrait of Amira Hurriya, a Palestinian organizer, with a Palestinian sunbird in her hair and with a carob tree growing over the apartheid wall, opening up a future where Palestine is free. Behind Amira there appears to be a galaxy, but upon closer observation this is the world beneath the soil, where unstoppable underground healing forces, totally resistant to artificial barriers, connect plants, animals andhumans.
