1 July 2017 saw #Canada150 trend, and a quick glance through social media takes one from coast to coast, showcasing performances of nationhood that are varied and diverse—like the country they celebrate. Yet, if we take a closer glance an alternative tag creeps in: #Resistance150. This online feature highlights performative acts that challenge and resist Canada150 as a celebration and nationalistic movement, foregrounding 150 years of occupation, genocide, marginalization, and struggle.
