    &#x3C;p&#x3E;&#x3C;/p&#x3E;
    What makes you a great supply chain educator? Is it your research? Is it your professional experience? Is it your pedagogical prowess that you just happen to apply towards supply chain management? Is it the meaning you find in educating our future supply chain leaders&amp;#x2014;laying down those first bricks for the foundation of careers that can&amp;#39;t be automated away? The answer to the first question is likely a combination of all the abovementioned factors. But no matter your personal motivation, we all need the best tools on our belt to become and remain effective and inspirational educators. The goal of this special issue is to add to your toolbelt and encourage you to reflect upon where our field is today and where it is

  <description>
    &#x3C;p&#x3E;&#x3C;/p&#x3E;
    When looking at the future of an industry trying to provide guidance on graduate qualities, changing skill sets and smart career choices, it is necessary to also look at its past. &amp;#x22;The line between disorder and order lies in logistics&amp;#x22; is a quote by Chinese philosopher and general Sun Tzu, which he used some 2,500 years ago to emphasize that logistics is a key factor in winning wars. Many believe that our planet and global supply chains (SCs) are currently or soon will be battling major issues not too dissimilar to wars but in the context of cybersecurity and climate change (e.g., Mann 2021). This article aims to contribute to helping people know what challenges and opportunities a career in this industry might

  <title>Time for Students to Take the Stage: Improving Career Readiness via a Deliberate-Practice Case Pedagogy</title>

  <description>
    &#x3C;p&#x3E;&#x3C;/p&#x3E;
    Is a college education worth it? Only recently a majority of American adults began to answer, &amp;#x22;No.&amp;#x22; (Carlson 2013; Leo 2018; Belkin 2023) The concern: High student debt and poor learning cast doubt on the return on investment (ROI) of a college education (Fawcett and Waller 2015; Treadgold 2018). Pundits point to a lack of student effort, engagement, and learning as indicators that we need to rethink higher education (Daniels 2022a, 2022b; Riley 2022). Guelzo and Wyatt (2022) assert that universities &amp;#x22;need to become more intentional about the education they are providing, and the students for whom they are providing it.&amp;#x22;As we strive to be more intentional, ROI-enabling educators, we need to ask, &amp;#x22;What skills do

  <title>The Value of Data-driven Category Management: A Case for Teaching Data Analytics to Purchasing and Supply Management Students</title>

  <description>
    &#x3C;p&#x3E;&#x3C;/p&#x3E;
    In today&amp;#39;s business environment, where the strength of a company is often determined by the weakest link in its supply chain, and where supply chains compete against supply chains, rather than individual companies against companies, purchasing and supply management (PSM) has become a vital element for a firm&amp;#39;s competitive differentiation and success. As such, PSM not only encompasses the strategic and operational activities involved in purchasing goods and services for business processes (Chen, Paulraj, and Lado 2004), but also leverages supplier capabilities for innovation and competitiveness (Schoenherr 2018). Sourcing decisions, particularly supplier evaluation and selection, thus have the potential to greatly

  <title>An Active Learning Exercise for Teaching Process Strategy Alignment and Process Improvement</title>

  <description>
    &#x3C;p&#x3E;&#x3C;/p&#x3E;
    The COVID-19 pandemic highlighted the crucial role that supply chain management plays in facilitating modern life. Shortages of wide-ranging products such as bath tissue, baby formula, and semiconductors impacted large portions of the US population. While researchers have been called to investigate new facets of supply chain disruptions (Swanson and Suzuki 2020), in practice there are increasing demands for individuals to manage supply chains (Ozment and Keller 2011; Delgado and Mills 2018). However, an insufficient supply of supply chain talent has made it even more difficult to produce reliable supply chains (McKinnon et al. 2017; van Hoek et al. 2020; van Hoek, Gibson, and Johnson 2020). As a consequence
