In the center or this seal there is a shield on which are shown three Jews’ hats, triangular in shape and attached to each other at the crowns. The shield is in high relief on a patterned background, perhaps to suggest chain mail. The letters are enclosed in two beaded circles. To the right of what seems to be a rosette between florets are the Latin letters, to the left the Hebrew letters. By tradition, the Hebrew name Mordechai is usually translated as Gomprecht or Gumprecht.
