 Appendix Creative Work Summary 28 Days Later (2002) is a science fiction horror film directed by Danny Boyle and written by Alex Garland.It stars Cillian Murphy as Jim,Naomie Harris as Selena,Brenda Gleeson as Frank,Megan Burns as Hannah, and Christopher Eccleston as Major West.The characters navigate a postapocalyptic, quarantined Britain four weeks after a deadly viral outbreak that makes humans enraged, violent, and zombielike. Random survivors Jim, Selena, Frank, and Hannah band together searching for safety. Frank is infected, but the remaining group is “rescued” by soldiers under the command of Major West. Major West has decided that the solution to the situation is to wait out the infection and, meanwhile, rape women in order to repopulate the world. The group escapes, but Jim is injured.The film cuts to twenty-eight days after their escape, showing the characters on the mend and attempting to make contact with Finnish jets flying overhead. 2001: A Space Odyssey (1968) is a science fiction horror film directed by Stanley Kubrick and written by Stanley Kubrick and Arthur C. Clarke.It stars Keir Dullea as Dr.Dave Bowman,Gary Lockwood as Dr. Frank Poole, and William Sylvester as Dr. Heywood R. Floyd. A monolith is discovered on the moon emitting a radio signal aimed at Jupiter. A secretive Jupiter mission is devised, headed by Dr. Bowman and Dr. Poole and accompanied by a few other scientists and HAL 9000, the ship’s sentient computer.  Appendix HAL is thought to be “incapable of error,” but astronauts begin to doubt this and plan to unplug him. HAL knows about their plan and preemptively lashes out, killing all except Dr. Bowman. Dr. Bowman defeats HAL and continues to Jupiter, where he encounters another monolith and experiences bizarre space/time marvels, which Kubrick and Clarke left open-ended for a variety of interpretations. Abby (1974) is a Blaxploitation horror film directed by William Girdler and written by William Girdler and Gordon Cornell Layne.It stars Carol Speed as Abby,a marriage counselor; William Marshall as Dr. Williams, a professor of archaeology; and Terry Carter as Detective Emmet, Dr. William’s son and Abby’s husband .On an expedition in Africa,Dr.Williams releases a Nigerian spirit of sexuality (possibly Eshu,although this point is left ambiguous ), which then possesses Abby.
