Abstract

This paper discusses the sources of Third Capture of Jerusalem, by Titus, an account attested from the fifteenth century onward in the Russian compila tion known as the Second redaction of the Hellenic and Roman Chronicler (EL-2), as well as in the Tixonravov Chronograph. It demonstrates the intricacies of trans mission of a multilayered text that has undergone several stages of translation and editorial processing by Jews and Christians.
