Abstract

On the basis of a comparative study of the headings, diapsalmata, and marginal notes in the two Glagolitic psalters in St. Catherine’s monastery on Mount Sinai, this article argues that there cannot be a direct copying relationship between the two manuscripts, but that they derive from a common exemplar containing spellings which reflected West Slavic pronunciation.
