Abstract

Another example of a sex-positive, feminist response to pornography by, in this case, former European porn star Ovidie. Entering porn as a militant feminist, and with a background in choreography, dance, and philosophy, her ideas about pornography changed as she met women actors in the industry. She now directs and produces porn by and for women and feminist documentaries such as Rhabillage (France, 2011), produced by Jean-Jacques Beineix, which examines the endemic sexism demonstrated toward former porn actresses in France once they leave the industry.
