Faculty of Economics, UBA On March 27 , 1998, the Commission for the Reconstruction of Memory of the Faculty of Economics placed a list in the building’s central courtyard bearing the following title: “To our companions who died and disappeared, you shall always be present. ” This same commission dedicated a lecture hall to Horacio Angel Simona. Plaque in the FUBA On the twentieth anniversary of the last military coup, the Buenos Aires University Federation (FUBA, Federaci ón Universitaria de Buenos Aires) placed a bronze plaque just a few meters away from the Plaza Houssay (see p. 66) bearing the names of all those detained and disappeared from the University of Buenos Aires. One, placed by the Union of Medical Sciences Students (CECiM), carries a list with the dates of the victims’ disappearances. María Claudia Falcone School No. 7 With 250 votes in favor, students and teachers chose to name Secondary School No. 7 after María Claudia Falcone, a victim of the notorious Night of the Pencils , an operation involving the abduction, torture, and disappearance of high school activists in September 1976. A memorial paving stone was placed on November 26, 2007; a second was placed in the school’s Yatay Street building. Eduardo Goldar Parodi On March 10, 2007 , a plaque was placed as a tribute to Eduardo Goldar Parodi in the house where he lived with his wife, Nora Codina, and his young son. Eduardo was kidnapped in Palomar. His wife was home with her son when she was kidnapped. The boy was rescued by neighbors. Nora was later released. LOCATION: J. L. BORGES 2252, PALERMO 47 . Cristián Caretti Cristián was one of the founders of the Union of Secondary School Students* (UES, Unión de Estudiantes Secundarios) in the 1970s. The paving stone dedicated in his memory bears the following inscription: “This is where Cristián Caretti, the ‘Gringo,’ was born and lived. Political activist disappeared by state terrorism on September 14, 1976. Family and friends.
