Biographical Note Jim Peterson was born in Augusta, Georgia, raised in North Augusta, South Carolina from the age of one, and has lived in Montana and Virginia. When not writing or teaching,he enjoys riding his motorcycle around the country and hiking in the mountains and deserts of the West. His fourth poetry collection, The Owning Stone, won The Benjamin Saltman Award and was published in 2000 by Red Hen Press.His poetry has been widely published in such journals as Poetry,Georgia Review,Shenandoah,and Prairie Schooner,and was awarded a 2002-2003PoetryFellowshipbytheVirginiaArtsCommission.Hisfirstnovel, Paper Crown,was published in 2005 by Red Hen.He is currently Coordinator of Creative Writing at Randolph-Macon Woman’s College and lives in Lynchburg , Virginia with his wife, Harriet, and their Welsh Corgi, Dylan Thomas.
