The editors seek manuscripts examining the history of New England regionalism; the way its culture came to represent American national culture; the interaction between that “official” New England culture and the people who lived in the region; and local, subregional, or even biographical subjects as microcosms that explicitly open up and consider larger issues. The series welcomes new theoretical and historical perspectives and is designed to cross disciplinary boundaries and appeal to a wide audience.
