177 Contributors jon mark mikkelsen is associate professor of philosophy and humanities at Missouri Western State College. His primary research interests include the philosophy of Immanuel Kant and the history and influence of German philosophical aesthetics. He is currently preparing a collection of translations of late eighteenth-century German writings on the concept of race, including three essays by Kant, of which two have already appeared in print: ‘‘Of the Different Human Races,’’ in The Idea of Race, ed. Robert Bernasconi and Tommy L. Lott (Hackett, 2000); and ‘‘On the Use of Teleological Principles in Philosophy,’’ in Race, ed. Robert Bernasconi (Blackwell, 2001). He is also working on a survey of German philosophical aesthetics from Kant to Lyotard.
