23 | The Secret Book of Sand In the secret book of sand, it is written, “The son who returns is the son in command.” I returned and Cottonwood Springs burned atop the Franklin Mountains. In the secret book, it is said, “The guilty son is the son in demand.” I fed myself lechuga and cactus greens with sweat from the clouds keeping guilt away.
