Acknowledgments
This book emerged from a collective endeavor. It was inspired by discussions within the Detroit Unreal Estate Agency; I thank Christian Ernsten, Femke Lutgerink and Mireille Roddier, as well as all others who came to participate in the Agency's activities.
The development of this book would have been both unthinkable and impossible without the thoughts and ideas that many people in and around Detroit graciously shared with me.
