13 2 Catalog of Grave Stelai All measurements are in cm; h = height, w = width, th = thickness. All images are shown at 1:10. Unless otherwise indicated, rosettes consist of two plain and concentric disks with petals rendered in paint only. All stones were made to be seen from the front and both lateral faces unless noted otherwise. Descriptions of colors preserved start from the lower end and often refer to traces that are only visible on the lateral faces of the various stones. The names of the workshops are a convention devised by the author to facilitate references and are based on the primary characteristic or commemorated individual in a group. The “Damatrios workshop” was called “Ionian workshop” in The Gravestones of Chersonesos, 2006. The original color of the taenia is not identifiable, but there are some brown/purple traces along the edges; green alabastron suspended on red ribbon. Rosettes : yellow petals on the inner disks against green background, traces of red leaves and black stripes on the outer disks. Upper profile: narrow yellow fillet, followed by alternating blue and green ovuli against red background on the Ionic kyma; above are a groove (without color) and a narrow red fillet.
