summary
An Analysis of Tendai Mwanaka’s ‘Notes from a Modern Chimurenga’ and Christopher’s Kudyahakudadirwe’s ‘The Big Noise and other Noises’.As a literature student the selection of the topic of this dissertation was mainly inspired by the emotional trauma experienced by the writer when she lost her daughter who was brutally murdered by her boyfriend. The study sought to expose various traumas that are depicted by two Zimbabwean authors namely Christopher Kudyahakudadirwe and Tendai Rinos Mwanaka. Drawing from their experiences, both authors manage to define trauma as both an individual or a collective phenomenon that can affect a nation due to socio-economic impact or socio-political environment.
