La traversée de l'archipel: Mouvement décolonial dans Nanimissuat Île-tonnerre de Natasha Kanapé Fontaine

Dans cet article, l'auteure propose de faire ressortir la poétique du mouvement décolonial à l'œuvre dans le recueil Nanimissuat Île-tonnerre (2018) de la poète Innu Natasha Kanapé Fontaine. Il s'agit de montrer comment les divers réseaux poétiques, para-textuels et métaphoriques, qui s'entrelacent et dialoguent au sein du recueil, mènent à une réunification des éléments éparpillés par la « fragmentation coloniale » (Heath Justice 2018) et à une reconstruction symbolique de la mémoire intergénérationnelle. C'est grâce à cette structure complexe que la poète réussit à assurer la cohérence du recueil et à construire sa vision décoloniale, montrant ainsi le potentiel de la poésie à raconter des histoires dont la portée symbolique et politique participe d'une marche vers un avenir fécond pour son peuple. Il s'agira donc de mettre au jour le récit réunificateur du recueil, engendré par la poétique du mouvement et ses divers parcours.

In this article, the author proposes to reflect on the poetics of decolonial movement at work in the collection Nanimissuat Île-tonnerre (2018) by Innu poet Natasha Kanapé Fontaine. The article shows how the various poetic, para-textual, and metaphorical networks, which intertwine and dialogue within the collection, lead to a reunification of the elements scattered by the "colonial fragmentation" (Heath Justice 2018), effectuating a symbolic reconstruction of intergenerational memory. It is thanks to this complex structure that the poet manages to ensure the coherence of the collection and to build her decolonial vision, thus demonstrating the potential of poetry to tell stories whose symbolic and political significance participates in the march towards a vibrant future for her people. The analysis, therefore, brings to light the unifying narrative of the collection, produced by the poetics of the movement and its various paths.
