Abstract

Abstract:

What might posthumanist approaches to the study of literature and culture offer Victorian studies? Sarah Alexander, Miranda Butler, Bruce Clarke, Tamara Ketabgian, Amy Wong, and Dongshin Yi offer insights drawn from a range of methodologies, including environmental studies, critical race theory, decoloniality, and Afropessimism. What emerges is a field that continues to offer tantalizingly to transform our thinking about what it means to be human but that is also troubled by its own Western, colonial biases.
