This article examines Sarah Glidden's travel memoir How to Understand Israel in 60 Days or Less. Its primary focus is protagonist Sarah's quest for an authentic representation of Israeli and Palestinian lived realities, and her parallel journey towards self-discovery and acceptance. This discussion highlights the advantages of privileged touristic witnessing and illuminates the protagonist's struggle to embrace her Jewish-American identity in light of the ongoing Israeli–Palestinian conflict.
