Abstract:

Dr. Brianna Robertson-Kirkland is a Lecturer in Historical Musicology at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, and she has a particular interest in singers and singing, historical education and eighteenth-century studies. Her forthcoming book Venanzio Rauzzini and the Birth of a New Style in English Singing: Scandalous Lessons is due to be published by Routledge. Brianna is also a co-editor for Allan Ramsay's Tea-Table Miscellany, due to be published with Edinburgh University Press in 2022. She is a Research Associate for the AHRC-funded project "The Edited Collection of Allan Ramsay", and is on the board of the British Society of Eighteenth-century Studies. She is the Principal Investigator for the Royal Society of Edinburgh funded project, Scotland's Singing for Health Network. Brianna has been a visiting researcher at the University of Sydney and at Chawton House. Past projects include establishing the Royal Society of Edinburgh funded Eighteenth-century Arts Education Research Network and working as Research Assistant for the Romantic National Song Network, also funded by Royal Society of Edinburgh.
