We are pleased to share with our readers this latest issue of Asian Perspectives and introduce ourselves as the journal's new Editorial Team. As many of you are aware, Mike Carson and Rowan Flad recently stepped down as Editors-in-Chief, having in recent years successfully overseen the growth and promotion of the journal. Owing to their steady hand in guiding the journal, we are inheriting a respected publication which now attracts increasing numbers of submissions from scholars working in different regions of Asia and the Pacific. We thank Mike and Rowan for their commitment to the journal and look forward to working with them as members of the Editorial Board.

Partly in response to increasing numbers of submissions to the journal, the new Editorial Team now includes three Editors-in-Chief (Francis Allard, Bérénice Bellina-Pryce, Julie Field) and a Book Review Editor (Michèle Demandt). Along with facilitating efficient review of submitted manuscripts, our respective fields of regional expertise (covering East Asia, South and Southeast Asia, and the Pacific Islands) will help us promote the journal to those conducting research in these regions. Our objective is to maintain cross-regional balance in published manuscripts while encouraging submissions from younger scholars.

Reflecting the journal's broad spatial and temporal coverage, the current issue's six articles range from Bronze Age Kazakhstan to early dynastic China and Medieval South Asia. Also included are six book reviews, representing an important component of the journal now overseen by the Book Review Editor. As we continue promoting the journal and ensuring cross-regional balance in future issues, we remain committed to maintaining its traditionally high editorial standards. Much of our work is facilitated by the technical and production support provided by the journal's Managing Editor, Jaida Samudra, whose experience and organizational skills the Editors have quickly come to appreciate.

We encourage all interested authors to contact us with any questions they may have regarding the suitability of their manuscript or to propose a special section for the journal. The Editors-in-Chief may be contacted at apjaeds@hawaii.edu and the Book Review Editor at apjabre@hawaii.edu. The journal's website, available at uhpress.hawaii.edu/title/ap/, provides the latest news and information about the journal, current issue contents, instructions for prospective authors, as well as other useful links.
