Abstract

Abstract:

Correspondence with Fliess initiates in Freud an evolutionary process, equivalent to that which will produce, when it is invented, the psychoanalytic situation. The first letters set up the themes that will be the subject of Freud's self-analysis, particularly in the dream of "Irma's injection." These letters finally evoke the circumstances of the break between Freud and Fliess and the unconscious causes of their disagreement.
