We move in two weeks before lockdown. The house is full of spiders. At first, we release them, then invite them to stay. We feed feral kittens abandoned beneath the house in those first quiet days, leave food and water for birds and hedgehogs. We trust in routine, but love what flickers in or out. [End Page 420]
