This article argues that there has been a significant shift in radical children's literature regarding the instigation and depiction of social involvement in Sweden. The analysis focuses on two picture books from two radical publishers, with different sociopolitical agendas: Spikarligan (1970) by Verdandi and Piraterna och vinterjakten (2017) by Olika.
