Abstract:
This essay analyze the films Blade Runner and Blade Runner 2049 in order to track a change in the meaning of “humanity” in them, arguing that an increased focus on heterocoital reproduction as a sign of humanity signals a cultural shift in conceptualizing human identity in terms of reproductive difference.
