  • Errata

In Journal of World History Vol. 31, No. 2 (2020), the following error should be corrected:

Kathryn A. Hain's article, "The Prestige Makers: Greek Slave Women in Ancient India," contains an error on page 273 in the sentence before note 29, which currently reads "The Allahabad pillar of Asoka boasts that the daughters of the local kings were sent to the Mauryan ruler." The corrected sentence should be the following:

Asoka's Allahabad pillar has a later inscription that the daughters of the local kings were sent to the Guptan house for marriage.

Dr. Klaus Karttunen adds that "the Allahabad pillar contains several inscriptions. One is the so-called Pillar Edict of the Maurya king Aśoka, one celebrates the great Aśvamedha rite of the Gupta king Samudragupta. The others are medieval."1 [End Page 831]
