Abstract:
I began misnamed. Before the page turned maybe. Lilium lancifolium. Lilium tigrinum, a synonym. Born of Asian lands: China, Japan, Korea—and also the Russian Far East. I am named such because perhaps I did not care for boundaries at the time. As I care not for seeds nor spreading myself wide through the air. I rely on myself as bulb. Bulb in the soil, moist and even and cold; Winter, my friend.
Or perhaps this is what I am told to be. Called Devil Lily, Leopard Lily, Columbia Lily, Oregon Lily, Western Wood Lily, Lilium Catesbaei, Chalice-Cup Lily. […]
