Edward S. Cutler is Associate Professor of English at Brigham Young University, where he specializes in nineteenth-and early-twentieth century literature. He is the author of Recovering the New: Transatlantic Roots of Modernism (2003). He currently serves as associate editor for the journal Literature & Belief.

Paul Hurh is Associate Professor and Director of Undergraduate Studies in English at the University of Arizona. He is the author of American Terror: The Feeling of Thinking in Edwards, Poe, and Melville (2015). His recent work has appeared in The Oxford Handbook of Edgar Allan Poe (2019), The New Melville Studies (2019), Melville's Philosophies (2017), and elsewhere.

Marina Trninic is Visiting Assistant Professor in the Honors College at the University of Houston. She specializes in nineteenth-century American literature and is interested in constructions of national identity and belonging, particularly their relationships to racialized violence. She is the author of "A Call to Humanity: Hawthorne's 'Chiefly about War-Matters'" and "Edgar Allan Poe's Tarred and Feathered Bodies: Imagining Race, Questioning Bondage, and Marking Humanity" which was awarded the Kirby Prize for Best Article in 2019.
