French Culture through Wine: A Capstone Course

This article presents a new capstone course, French Culture throughWine, designed for students from various academic backgrounds in their junior or senior year of university study at the undergraduate level. Interdisciplinary in nature, the course, taught in English, uses the topic of wine to engage students in the study of major events of French history and famous works from French literature and culture. After a presentation of the course rationale, design, and content, the final research project is described and assessment data pertaining to the course and students' achievement of the university undergraduate learning goals are discussed.
