Abstract

Abstract:

Over the past 20+ years, Marie Darrieussecq may have become more celebrated as a novel writer. How to reassess her organic corpus and overall writing in their nuances, ambiguity, and specificity of form, content or intent if one neglects a wider overview of genre classification, in (non)literary and gender (fluid) dimensions? Her collection of exceptionally diverse texts, notable and polemical for their hybridity, testifies to an underestimated network of ethical and esthetic choices. This article focuses on the potential variety of critical frameworks and places of publication her ongoing œuvre can encompass, adapt, and subvert to her own aims.
