Abstract

abstract:

Relatively little is known, at the population-level, about the sexual lives of contemporary Black women in the United States. Using data from 2015 Sexual Exploration in America Study, a U.S. probability sample aged. 18+, we examined Black women's reports of engaging, or not engaging in, 30+ sexual behaviors as well as their sexual satisfaction. Most (>75%) women perceived sexual variety to be important to relationships and/or marriages. Black women's higher sexual variety scores were associated with greater odds of a high sexual satisfaction rating. Clinical and education implications for Black women's sexuality and their relationships are discussed.
