Abstract

Abstract:

This essay, written as a series of dictionary definitions, creates an incomplete assemblage of what the author knows of the life of her paternal aunt, Susan, who spent her adulthood institutionalized with schizophrenia. The essay explores the nature of experienced reality, subjectivity versus objectivity, gender expectations, and storytelling.
