abstract :
This manuscript will explore how a Narrative therapy framework can effectively be integrated to serve psychotherapy clients of color concurrently navigating their HIV+ diagnosis. Often, desire levels can decrease and self-schemas can be distorted by HIV+ diagnosis. Research to date presents a dearth of clinical research and strategies to serve these women navigating their HIV diagnosis and concurrent sexual desire disorders. Additional insights are presented inclusive of a narrative excerpted sexual history interview, and embedded in a case presentation to elucidate application of specific steps to facilitate reauthoring the stories for these female clients of color.
