The editors wish to correct two references in this review (Pype 2020 in Africa 90 (2) 2020: 408–9): (i) to ‘Northeastern Province’, which should read ‘Eastern Province’; and (ii) to ‘Chinwanya’, which should read ‘Chinyanja’, the major lingua franca in Zambia and the wider region. We further note that ‘Eastern Province’ and ‘Chinyanja’ were rendered correctly in the book itself but incorrectly in the published review.
