Abstract:
Dr Ann Featherstone is a retired lecturer in theatre and performance history at the University of Manchester. With Professor Jacky Bratton she researched and co-authored The Victorian Clown (CUP, 2006), and edited The Journals of Sydney Race 1892-1900: A Provincial View of Popular Entertainment for the Society for Theatre Research (2007). She has contributed chapters to published collections on Victorian pantomime (Victorian Pantomime, ed. Jim Davis, 2010) and humour (Victorian Comedy & Laughter: Rethinking the Page and the Stage ed.
