Abstract

Abstract:

We investigated the relationship between overseas service-learning experiences and the change in global perspectives of 157 Taiwanese college students by using the Overseas Service-Learning Experience Scale and the Global Perspective Scale. The outcomes of students who participated in overseas service during Summer 2015 were analyzed. Findings indicate that their global perspectives significantly improved after their participation. Differences in the effects of different preparation, service, reflection, and celebration experiences on the change in global perspectives were significant. Structural equation modeling of overseas service-learning experiences and the changes in global perspective demonstrate favorable goodness of fit.
