Abstract:
This article analyzes the contradictory positions assumed by cultural critics who consider recipes a form of narrative, resolving that recipes function as pseudonarratives on which critics can graft any cultural narrative they wish. The article uses unnatural narratology to address how recipes deconstruct the naturalness of narrative and their importance as a tool to grant literacy to groups denied it.
