Abstract:
“Antigone’s Dream” concerns the hate crime that resulted in the death of Matthew Shepard, who died at Poudre Valley Hospital in Fort Collins, Colorado. The poem is set against a backdrop of historical mythos in the persona of Antigone, who seeks proper burial for her dead brother, Polynices, and speaks the poem.
