In lieu of an abstract, here is a brief excerpt of the content:

  • ErrataThe Contemporary Pacific Vol. 31, No. 2 (2019)

Since the publication of Luafata Simanu-Klutz's review of Uncovering Indigenous Models of Leadership: An Ethnographic Case Study of Samoa's Talavou Clan, by Leiataua Robert Jon Peterson, it has come to the journal's attention that Simanu-Klutz served on Peterson's doctoral committee. Pursuant to the uh Press Journal Division's Ethics Statement, this prior professional relationship should have been disclosed in the review.

On page 605 (col 1, para 2) of the review, Simanu-Klutz describes Malietoa Tanumafili II as Leiataua Peterson's uncle. In the Samoan context, "uncle" can refer to any senior male relative, even if only distantly related. However, Malietoa Tanumafili II is not the brother of either of Leiataua Peterson's parents.
