PROCEEDINGS AT THE NINTH MEETING (1977) OF THE CONFERENCE This meeting was organized by Richard Strassberg at Yale University. Hans Frankel presided over the three sessions, which were held in a lounge in the Hall of Graduate Studies. It was a great convenience for participants to be allowed to have most of their meals in the dining hall of the neighboring Davenport College. The Yale Department of East Asian Languages and Literatures gave a cocktail party, after which some forty persons went to the Frankels' house for a sumptuous Chinese dinner. This was followed by the usual "oral and performing" Frolic in which the high point was dancing by Ch'ung-ho Frankel and Sophia Delza.
