Abstract

RESUMEN:

El artículo pretende analizar las principales características de la dinámica educativa protestante en Cuba durante la primera mitad del siglo XX. Como eje central se analizarán las influencias que se generaron entre los misioneros protestantes estadounidenses y los ciudadanos cubanos que formaron parte de aquel proceso educativo. Comprender qué tipo de ciudadano se pretendía formar y cómo este discurso influyó en aquellos estudiantes cubanos es parte de los análisis que se proponen.

ABSTRACT:

The article analyzes the main features of the Protestant educational dynamic in Cuba during the first half of the twentieth century. It is also interesting to mark the influences generated between American Protestant missionaries and the Cuban citizens who were part of that educational process. Understanding the type of citizen formation this education aimed for and how that discourse influenced Cuban students are also analyzed in this article.
